Project Management

In an era where education is rapidly evolving, Montessori schools face the challenge of staying true to their foundational principles while adapting to the demands of a modern world. School leaders and administrators often grapple with the complexities of project management—whether it’s revamping a process, creating a new system, or strategic planning—and staying within the context of the Montessori philosophy. The challenges can lead to inefficiencies, misaligned priorities, and a dilution of the Montessori experience. The result? Schools have to work twice as hard to showcase the transformative power of Montessori education in a way that resonates with today’s families and educators.

At Montessori Makers Group, we offer a solution that bridges the gap between tradition and innovation. Our "Montessori Methodology" for project management provides a thoughtful, intentional framework for tackling the challenges of modernizing Montessori education. We understand that while the core principles of Montessori are timeless, the methods of implementation must evolve to meet the needs of today’s learners and communities.

Our comprehensive support services are designed to help you navigate this balance with confidence. From planning to execution, we break down project management into key categories—such as phases, action steps, deliverables & communication—ensuring every initiative strengthens your school’s foundation and aligns with Montessori values.

With Montessori Makers Group, you don’t just manage projects; you elevate them. Our approach empowers you to modernize the Montessori experience in a way that honors its heritage while showcasing its relevance and power in the 21st century. Let us help you create a school environment that reflects the best of Montessori education—thoughtfully planned, intentionally executed, and deeply impactful. Strategic Planning

Organizational Mapping in Montessori (strategic planning)

When you invite us to support your strategic planning process:

We take you on a journey of Montessori Organizational Mapping. Montessori Organizational Mapping refers to the way that we seek to meet our greatest potential as an organization. This diagram above depicts how, just as everything else in the philosophy is connected (such as the child, caregiver, and guide or child, environment, and guide) so are the steps to impart meaningful growth in an organization and reach full potential.

The parts are as follows:

The three main areas related to reaching your potential as a Montessori organization are:

  • Aim

  • Scheme

  • Implementation

Within these 3 areas, an organization must focus on the following understandings to fully reach full potential.

  1. Aim

    1. Mission

    2. Vision

    3. Values

  2. Scheme

    1. Intentions

    2. Focus

    3. Frameworks

  3. Implementation

    1. Curate

    2. Control

    3. Convey

  6. Intentions: Your intentions lean into how you will get to your goal.

  7. Focus: The Focus is where you zero in with your intentions, the category or categories of work.

  8. Framework: Frameworks invite you to name the skills or resources necessary to meet your Intention.

  9. Implementation: Implementation is the act of engaging in the work to meet your Aim.

  10. Curate: The Curation process calls you to think through the initiatives that will get you to your potential.

  11. Control: Control speaks to the controls of error you use to evaluate success of the initiatives chosen.

  12. Convey: Reaching your organization’s potential can only be done through community effort. It requires you to share the whole, as well as the sum of its parts.
